Frequently asked questions

KGI’s programs are suitable for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people only.

The time commitment varies throughout the program however as a guide, you’ll need to commit approximately an hour a month for online catch ups and another hour for additional work outside of the catch ups.

The majority of the program will be delivered online however the program includes two residential events from Friday 20 to Sunday 22 May 2022 and Sunday 26 June to Friday 1 July 2022.

All costs are covered by KGI and the Victorian Electoral Commission, who sponsor the registration fee of the program.

You don’t need a referral to apply. As long as you are interested in leadership, ready for a challenge and keen to step outside of your comfort zone, you are welcome to apply.

You don’t need to have attended any of our other KGI programs to apply for this one.

Debating your bill in Parliament House may sound really intimidating, but you will receive training and mentoring before the program to help build your skills and confidence in public speaking. Everyone on the program is there to learn and have fun, so you will be supported by everyone around you.

Korin Gamadji Institute

We extend our deepest respect to First Peoples and Traditional Owners of the land, air and waterways where we live and work.

Korin Gamadji means ‘grow and emerge’ in Woiwurrung, the language of the Wurundjeri people. In 2011 these words were gifted to Richmond Football Club by Wurundjeri Elders, and the Korin Gamadji Institute was born.
