About

This four-day residential program is an On Country exploration of our three key curriculum pillars – leadership, culture and social and emotional wellbeing.

We explore:

  • Being a young leader within your community
  • Looking out for other mob
  • Your rights and responsibilities as a young First Nation’s person

The program takes place in lutruwita (Tasmania). Participants will travel to Launceston, before heading to the Bay of Fires, on the north-east coast. From here, participants will complete the wukalina Walk – a four-day trek through Country owned by the palawa peoples.

Participants will camp On Country and experience bush foods, cultural activities, whilst learning local history. The camp departs and returns via Melbourne Airport. All cost are covered by Korin Gamadji.

Registration is open to all young people who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and are completing Year 11 or Year 12 in 2025. Spots are limited and successful applicants will be notified 4-weeks prior to the program start date.

Korin Gamadji Institute

We extend our deepest respect to First Peoples and Traditional Owners of the land, air and waterways where we live and work.

Korin Gamadji means ‘grow and emerge’ in Woiwurrung, the language of the Wurundjeri people. In 2011 these words were gifted to Richmond Football Club by Wurundjeri Elders, and the Korin Gamadji Institute was born.
