The Laguntas Program is a joint-initiative between Richmond’s centre for Indigenous youth, the Korin Gamadji Institute (KGI), and AFL Victoria.
The first stop for this year’s Laguntas squad was Richmond’s Punt Road Oval.
The four-day program featured cultural activities, football education, training and recovery sessions at the Tigers’ high-performance facility.
This year’s Laguntas side was packed with 22 talented footballers aged between 15 and 18, who mostly hail from Victoria.
As part of the program, the Laguntas took on Port Adelaide’s Aboriginal Academy.
The Laguntas will travel to South Australia in July to take on the Academy ahead of Richmond’s Round 15 AFL match against the Power.
