The second Dreamtime Careers Expo, ‘Dream, Learn and Earn’ will take place at the Korin Gamadji Institute, Punt Road Oval, on Saturday, May 25.
The Expo will be open to the public from 10am – 3pm and over 1000 Aboriginal visitors are expected to attend.
The Dreamtime Career Expo will provide Victorian employers, education and training providers the opportunity to connect with the next generation of Indigenous leaders, in a truly unique and culturally appropriate environment.
With over 40 stalls and panel discussions with Indigenous industry professionals, the Dreamtime Careers Expo will encourage Aboriginal students to dream of diverse and inspiring careers and will provide tangible next steps in making these dreams a reality.
The theme Dream, Learn and Earn encompasses aspiration building, the promotion of educational and training opportunities, paired with networking, resume building and real jobs.
There will be hourly prize draws of AFL merchandise and the first 500 visitors to complete an interactive questionnaire known as The Learn and Earn Challenge will receive a free General Admission Ticket to the ‘Dreamtime at the G’ game.
Job seekers, students and community members of all ages are welcome. The Academy of Sport, Health and Education (ASHE) and Sport and Recreation Victoria will partner to run traditional games such as marn grook, buroinjin, pulyugge, jumpinpin.
