On Saturday, March 1, 47 young Indigenous men participated in AFL Victoria’s Kickstart selection High Performance Testing camp held at the Korin Gamadji Institute.

The participants travelled from all over Victoria, including regional areas, Mildura and Lakes Entrance, as well as some Tasmanian representatives.

Over two days the participants where tested on several aspects of the game, including the 20m sprint test, agility test and jump test.

They also had a number of sessions focused on team bonding, professionalism in football and making the right nutritional choices.

Carlton footballer, Mitch Robinson and Hawthorn’s Jed Anderson joined the camp to tell their stories to the participants and discuss the importance of resilience.

The weekend finished with a practice match played on Punt Road Oval, at the ME Bank Centre.
